Lone Man In Launderette

I don't know about you but I think that the launderette is a lonely place. A place that the time you spend there you wish you could be doing something else, as you are tired down in the launderette and your machine. You can not go to far away cause you never know when your machine will end or run out of money. I also wonder why people are still using launderettes, as they appear to be expensive compared to the cost of a machine for home?

Great photo with a lonely feeling! I guess many people can't afford to buy such machines for their home or apartment.

I don't have the answers, Percy, but this is a terrific shot.

Is this the Summertown launderette? I go there now and then, if I have a duvet to clean or my washing machine is broken. I get to read, pick up a coffee, browse the charity shop next door or pop into the library (depending on the time of day of course). I love it.

Wonderful shot Percy! Very evocative!

I think, too, it has to do with one's living situation...available space, etc....
When I was in college and newly on my own, I spent a lot of time in launderettes...but less time over all than doing laundry at home, one machine at a time!!!
