Not sure what I can say about this photo, I just saw these two chatting in Bonn Square and thought that the image portrayed a message of friendship across the ages and abilities. I don't have a lot of people photo's on ODP which I might try and change, as it is the people of Oxford that make this city what it really is. I also think it is harder to take photo's of people.

Just Having A Chat
Not sure what I can say about this photo, I just saw these two chatting in Bonn Square and thought that the image portrayed a message of friendship across the ages and abilities. I don't have a lot of people photo's on ODP which I might try and change, as it is the people of Oxford that make this city what it really is. I also think it is harder to take photo's of people.

This is a charming photo. They both seem to be enjoying their conversation, and as you mention, they're such different types--it's unexpected.
I agree, it's hard to take photos of people. Some photographers find it easy but I'm shy, I guess. My blog doesn't have a lot of people shots, either.
Percy, you sure did a good thing, taking this picture. I like the dynamics of the people in the background too. It's always a bit tricky to publish pictures of people, as they didn't ask to be so public... On my blog I sometimes do, but often in a manner they can't be recognised. Greetings form Tilburg.

I always wonder about the ethics of taking photos of regular people and posting them on the internet without permission. I do it, but I still wonder, and I usually avoid recognizable photos of children (whose parents might scream!) . . .
In the States it's legal to take and publish pictures of people in public places. The assumption is that they're allowing themselves to be seen in public, thereby giving permission. I realize things are a bit tougher in Britain (and you're talking ethics, as opposed to law). I am also careful about children and always ask permission of the parents. Regardless of the law, the ethics are more sensitive with the little ones.
